About The Event

THE ACADEMY IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR ADOLESCENT & ADULT eCASE REVIEW: STANDING THE TEST OF TIME ON MARCH 17, 2021 AT 12:00 PM EST!

You won't want to miss this AFN Membership Benefit!  Adolescent & Adult eCase Review is recommended for all nurse examiners!

Prior to intense media scrutiny and legislative changes, many jurisdictions selectively processed sexual assault evidence kits, leaving hundreds of thousands of rape kits sitting in evidence storage, untested.  This led to a huge push nationwide to have all previously collected, stored and untested kits to be tested.  The result of this testing of long forgotten kits, with both local and national implications, has been a startling number of DNA matches being added into CODIS.

For the medical providers that completed the medical evaluations and evidence collection on these long-forgotten evidence kits and cold cases new challenges and questions potentially exist.  Are you prepared to testify on older documentation that is 10-20 years old?  What happens if your photo documentation did not survive the rape kit backlog?  Join us for this unique opportunity to review an early patient case after approximately 20 years to evaluate whether this case stood the test of time.

This is a Members Only Benefit!  Please email us at afn@afnmail.org if you have any questions.

Don't miss your opportunity to:

  • Discuss the challenges examiners have faced with forensic medical record documentation on cold cases.
  • Discuss what happens when your pictures don't survive as long as your case does.
  • Discuss how to explain forensic medical examination documentation from older cases.
  • Discuss how today's forensic medical documentation differs from documentation 10 to 20 years ago.

IMPORTANT

You will need to register in advance for this Webinar.

Webinar is scheduled for March 10, 2021 at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (EST).  Question and answer session will immediately follow.
