Since 1983, the month of April has been designated as Child Abuse Awareness Month. This month also marks the 20th anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.

With that in mind, the Academy continues to work diligently to end sexual harassment, assault, and abuse by partnering with organizations, continuing our growth as an organization, and building and supporting racial equity and respect.

I hope you will join us as we strive to raise awareness and provide continuing education that promotes the prevention and early identification of abuse. In turn, we will continue to support the forensic nurses who care for those affected by violence and trauma.

Collectively, we stand united to end abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence – close to home and around the globe.
