Natalie Calow is the Forensic Program Coordinator at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, a Level I trauma center in Indianapolis. With over 20 years in emergency nursing and more than a decade in forensic nursing, she is a respected leader in trauma-informed care and forensic practice.


She holds a BSN from Indiana University and an MSN in hospital leadership from the University of Indianapolis. Calow serves on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Forensic Nursing (AFN), chairs its Membership Committee, and contributes to the Interprofessional Collaboration and Education Committees. She co-authored AFN’s position statements on Trauma-Informed Care and Non-Fatal Strangulation and was a reviewer for the Evidence-Based Forensic Nursing Education statement.


Calow is also a driving force behind the TeleSANE program at IU Health, which has significantly reduced unnecessary hospital transfers for sexual assault exams and expanded access to trauma-informed care across Indiana. Her team recently secured a three-year grant to provide sexual assault specialty training to forensic nurses statewide.


An active member of the Emergency Nurses Association since 2005, Calow has held roles including Chapter President, Treasurer, Forensic Committee Chair, and member of the State Government Affairs Committee.
