When you bring together people from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of experiences, ideas grow and things get done. That's the key element that drives the Academy of Forensic Nursing leadership.

Our team is headed by the Executive Board, consisting of the president, immediate past president, president-elect, treasurer, and secretary.

 

Members of the Board of Directors are elected by the AFN membership during the annual election held December 1-15 each year. Each board member serves a two-year term beginning January 1, which can be extended if approved by a majority vote from the membership.

The Academy recognizes past Executive Board members through appointment to the AFN Advisory Board. Individuals who have made exemplary contributions to forensic nursing are also named Honorary Members. And Virginia Lynch, recognized as the founder of forensic nursing, is distinguished as AFN's Global Ambassador.
