The Journal of the Academy of Forensic Nursing (JAFN) is seeking prospective authors to submit their research for consideration in the second issue of the publication. The deadline for submissions is April 14, 2023.

JAFN, the official publication of the Academy of Forensic Nursing, is a peer-reviewed, open-source journal. Its first issue is due to be published in the first quarter of 2023. The focus of the journal is to highlight scholarship relevant to forensic nursing and allied forensic professionals. There is an emphasis on understanding the quality of the evidence underlying the practice. It also highlights the work of the AFN including the Journal Club, Policy Committee, Ethics Committee, and Research Committee.

Journal Editor Dr. Cathy Carter-Snell said it is the goal of the editorial team to mentor professionals who want to publish their research, but may not know where to start or are not completely comfortable with the writing and peer-review process.
