

The DAISY Nurse Leader Award in Forensic Nursing
The Academy of Forensic Nursing is thrilled to sponsor the 3rd Annual DAISY Nurse Leader Award in Forensic Nursing!
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award in Forensic Nursing was created in 2024 to recognize the value and importance of nurse leaders within the forensic nursing community. Forensic nursing leaders exist in all practice settings, academia, and beyond. These highly specialized nursing leaders exemplify competencies specific to working with persons experiencing trauma and violence, along with resilience and grit, and dedication.
The AFN DAISY Nurse Leader Award seeks those who embody our organization's mission statement, which is to link research to practice through dissemination of scholarship, education, and service to those affected by and responding to trauma, with an ultimate vision of responding to trauma with care.
Criteria:

Mentors other forensic nurse leaders or forensic clinical nurses

Promotes the image and visibility of forensic nursing in the community and the profession
-
Role-models forensic nursing leadership attributes of being visionary and strategic
-
Supports forensic nursing professional or programmatic and policy development
-
Nurses may not self-nominate
Two Nomination Categories:

Clinical Forensic Nursing Pathfinder: A specialized resource or guide who assists forensic nurses in navigating the intersection of healthcare and the legal system. This pathfinder provides essential information, tools, and references tailored to the unique needs of forensic nursing practice.

Forensic Nursing Scholar: A highly knowledgeable and dedicated professional in the field of forensic nursing who engages in advanced study, research, and education to contribute to the body of knowledge and practice in this specialty.
