2027-2029 Board of Directors Election
The application period for the Academy of Forensic Nursing Board of Directors will be open from July 1 – August 14, 2026. Board seats may be filled by any AFN member in good standing, and all are encouraged to apply. Once applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee, 30-minute interviews with prospective candidates will be conducted on August 26 (afternoon) and August 28 (morning). Finally, an electronic election will be held from October 1–15, 2026.
Monthly Board of Director Meetings
As of June 2026, the monthly AFN Board of Directors meetings are held via Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. ET.
Term to be Served: January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2028 *

Executive Officer Seats Open: President-Elect *, Treasurer, Secretary

* The President-Elect serves one year (Jan 1, 2027 – Dec 31, 2027), then moves to President (Jan 1, 2028 – Dec 31, 2028), and finishes as Immediate Past President (Jan 1, 2029 – Dec 31, 2029). This is a three-year commitment. All other Board positions serve a two-year term.
