Karen Emard Gundrum

Karen Emard Gundrum has served as both a leader and an educator in her different nursing roles over 16 years as a Registered Nurse. She has obtained multiple certifications in various areas of Emergency and Forensic Nursing, and has held a Course Director/Faculty status with Emergency Nurses Association since 2020, and began her teaching journey with ENA in 2019. She regularly teaches Trauma Nursing Core Course and Emergency Nursing Pediatrics Course. She has also taught Med Surg, Nursing Fundamentals, and Mental Health Courses at the Baccalaureate level at Reinhardt University for the past year and a half. 

 

As much as she is passionate about leading and educating, Gundrum also describes herself as a lifelong learner and incorporates this philosophy into her day-to-day work. She has dedicated a large portion of her time in forensic nursing to the areas of SANE, IPV, child and elder abuse. More recently, she has been striving to learn about other specialty areas of forensic nursing, such as Legal Nurse Consulting.
