Hi, attached is the December abuse research summary, which is a review of articles indexed by the National Library of Medicine from peer reviewed journals. This month there are some excellent review articles with extensive practical information with tables, algorithms, lists of resources, etc. for topics including LGBTQ health, long term health needs after sexual trauma, child sex trafficking, special advocates for children in court, mental health clinical competencies for pediatricians, and an overview of caring for children in military families. In addition there are interesting articles on the association of lead exposure and violence; bullying; and the effects of abuse on menopausal symptoms, chronic pelvic pain, and ovarian cancer.
