Goal Statement
I seek the Academy of Forensic Nursing (AFN) treasurer position to provide fiscally responsible leadership vital for our profession's growth. As a forensic nurse, nonprofit director, and health executive, I bridge clinical practice with business strategy. My experience as Executive Director of Forensic Nursing Network and my MBA with a health care focus equips me to navigate budgeting, grant compliance, and operational challenges.
As treasurer, I will prioritize financial transparency, sustainability, and strategic resource allocation to expand education, professional development, and multidisciplinary connections. I am committed to advancing AFN’s mission, shaping forensic nursing globally.
Biography
Laura Kaiser, MBA, BSN, RN, SANE-A, is a forensic nurse and health care leader with more than two decades of nursing experience. She serves as the Executive Director of Forensic Nursing Network, Inc. She leads several statewide initiatives focused on forensic nursing education, program development, collaboration, and support for health care professionals serving victims of violence.
Laura holds an MBA with a concentration in Health care and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University. She has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, grant management, financial oversight, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She works closely with forensic nurses, law enforcement, attorneys, advocates, and health care organizations to strengthen forensic nursing services and improve outcomes for patients.
Laura is passionate about advancing the forensic nursing profession through education, collaboration, and sustainable programs that support nurses and the communities they serve.
