Details: 

This intensive, skills-based training is designed to enhance the clinical knowledge and practical competencies of healthcare professionals in the identification, assessment, documentation, and treatment of patients who have experienced non-fatal strangulation. Participants will learn evidence-based approaches for medical evaluation, forensic documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed care and patient-centered practice.

 

The course includes didactic content, hands-on simulation, and case-based scenarios to build clinical confidence in recognizing the subtle signs of strangulation and supporting appropriate medical and legal interventions.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

​

• Accurately identify physical and neurological signs and symptoms associated with non-fatal strangulation.

• Perform a focused clinical assessment, including appropriate imaging and documentation techniques.

• Apply trauma-informed approaches when caring for patients reporting strangulation.

​

This session is a must for clinicians seeking to improve outcomes for survivors of strangulation.
