Bethany A. Patterson, RN, OR-SANE, is a Forensic Nurse at the SAFE Center, Oregon’s first comprehensive sexual assault and forensic examination clinic, which opened in January 2025. With a clinical career spanning nearly a decade, Patterson brings deep expertise in trauma-informed care, medical–forensic practice, and emergency nursing across adult, pediatric, and trauma settings. Patterson began her nursing career in 2017 in the Emergency Department, where she developed a strong foundation in high‑acuity care, crisis response, and multidisciplinary coordination. Her work in adult and pediatric emergency and trauma environments sparked her commitment to survivor‑centered care and ultimately led to her specialization in forensic nursing. As an OR-SANE–certified nurse, she is actively engaged in professional development, community partnerships, and statewide efforts to elevate forensic nursing practice. Her work reflects a deep commitment to supporting survivors, strengthening interdisciplinary systems, and advancing trauma‑informed, evidence‑based care.
