Heather Wilde

Heather Wilde is a graduate of Otterbein University and brings nearly 30 years of nursing experience, transitioning from intensive care into a specialized career in forensic nursing. She currently serves as the Director of Education for the Forensic Nursing Network, where she leads the development and delivery of statewide education for healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams on medical forensic topics. Wilde is recognized for enhancing clinical readiness through practical, evidence-informed education that strengthens the response to intentional violence and improves outcomes for patients impacted by trauma. She has provided expert testimony on the dynamics of human trafficking and strangulation and continues to practice as a Forensic Nurse Examiner with Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio. She remains actively involved in multiple statewide committees and collaborative initiatives focused on strengthening healthcare, forensic, and multidisciplinary responses to violence, trafficking, and trauma-informed care. Her commitment to this work extends beyond her professional roles. For the past six years, Wilde has volunteered with The Freedom Collective, supporting individuals impacted by human trafficking. She is passionate about advancing the future of forensic nursing through education, collaboration, and advocacy, driven by the belief that informed professionals are essential to improving outcomes, supporting survivors, and preventing further harm.
