Merriam Young

Merriam Young, MS, RN, CCRN, TCRN, GFN-C, is a forensic nurse expert with Godoy Medical Forensics Inc. and a nurse in the surgical/trauma intensive care unit at Stanford Health Care. A registered nurse since 1998, she has extensive experience in critical care, trauma, nursing leadership, and education. Young provides forensic consultation in criminal and civil cases involving medical record review, injury analysis, and interpretation of complex medical evidence. Her areas of expertise include strangulation, traumatic injury, and traumatic brain injury. She is passionate about translating complex medical concepts into clear, evidence-based information for attorneys, investigators, jurors, and other professionals. Young has presented forensic and clinical topics to multidisciplinary audiences and at national conferences. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cycling, reading, and spending time with her dogs.
