Tara Godoy

Tara Godoy, MBA, BSN, RN, has been a forensic nursing consultant since 2009. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern California, and a certificate in forensic nursing from the University of California, Riverside. As founder and CEO of Godoy Medical Forensics, she built and leads a national team of forensic nurse experts and other forensic professionals who support prosecution and defense teams in federal and state cases. Godoy has testified more than 80 times as an expert witness and has presented at national conferences of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association for Public Defense, the National Defense Investigators Association, and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. She serves on the Academy of Forensic Nursing Leadership Committee and is committed to mentoring nurses and building the next generation of forensic nursing leaders. In Southern Oregon, Godoy enjoys rafting with her family, cheering on her daughter’s ice hockey team, reading, and spending time with her Labradors, Basil and Roan.
