Mariah Herfi

Mariah Herfi (she/her) is a Staff Attorney on the University of Chicago Medical Legal Partnership team at Legal Aid Chicago. This Medical Legal Partnership is focused on procuring public benefits for victims of gun violence in Chicago. She is passionate about serving those in need and has done so throughout her career. Before her time at Legal Aid Chicago, she served as an Assistant Public Defender in St. Clair County, Michigan. She is an elected member of the Michigan State Bar Prisons and Corrections Section where she works to provide insight and guidance for those looking to improve conditions for incarcerated individuals. Herfi is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy Law and is licensed to practice in Michigan and Illinois. Outside of work, Herfi loves all things live music!
