Sharla Young

Sharla Young, MSN, RN, AFN-C, IVSE-C, SANE-A, is a forensic nurse examiner, educator, and program leader dedicated to advancing forensic nursing practice. As Program Coordinator for the SART Clinic of Northwest Ohio, she is responsible for training and evaluating a team of forensic nurses to ensure high-quality, defensible care. She is also the owner of Spotlight Consulting, LLC, where she provides expert consultation, education, and testimony in cases involving sexual assault and strangulation. When she’s not focused on forensic work, Young is busy being a wife, mom, and grandma—and enthusiastically holding her title as President of the Dr. Smock Rocks Fan Club.
