Shoshana Melech-Shalom

Shoshana Melech-Shalom is Head Nurse at the Primary Care Clinic for Clalit Health Services in Israel. She has been a nurse since 1988. She initially worked in hospital settings, but after a few years found herself posted in rural settings, where she has remained since 1993 – apart from two years in Canada and a year in the United States. Since 2000, Melech-Shalom has been working on the introduction of forensic nursing into Israel and its recognition as a new field of practice, and in 2006, she was joined by Dr. Orli Grinstein-Cohen to continue this ongoing effort. Melech-Shalom holds a BA in History and Archaeology of Near Eastern Studies from the University of Toronto (1984); RN (1987) Israel; MN (2013) and Masters' thesis in 2017 at Ben-Gurion University, Israel. She also completed an Advanced Practice certificate in Primary Health Care Nursing in 2022 from Barzilai Nursing School, Ashkelon, Israel.
