Terri-Sue Jackson

Terri-Sue Jackson’s career in medicine started long before she became a nurse in 2014. With over 25 years in EMS, she has worked as a firefighter/paramedic, critical care flight paramedic for both fixed-wing and rotor programs, and as an organ recovery and transplantation coordinator for Gift of Hope. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Medicine and Psychology from North Central College. She went on to receive her associate’s degree in nursing from Waubonsee Community College. Then, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Purdue University in 2015. While practicing as an emergency room nurse, she recognized the need for nurses who cared for victims of sexual assault and started her journey in forensic medicine by obtaining her verification of Adult and Adolescent SANE in 2017 and then went on to achieve her SANE-A national certification in 2021. Jackson is currently employed by Northwestern Medicine West Region SANE program practicing as a SANE-A and P/A-SANE. Currently, she is a member of AFN, ENA, and IAFN. She has served on the Illinios IAFN Chapter board as the treasurer. Jackson continues to hold her CEN, TNS, NRP, EMT-P and CCEMT-P licenses. She continues to educate and mentor other nurses, advocates, and law enforcement on forensic nursing topics.
