Monika Pitzele

Monika Pitzele

Monika Pitzele obtained her PhD from Northwestern University and MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also completed the Emergency Medicine residency program. She currently is on faculty at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She serves as the Medical Director of the Sexual Assault Program and co-PI of a large grant focused on Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training by the United States Health Resources and Services Administration. Pitzele has a long-standing interest in forensic emergency medicine and is the current Chair of the Forensic Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She is involved in the education of nurses, paramedics, medical residents and students on forensic topics. During her free time, Pitzele enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and travelling to explore new places.
