The Academy of Forensic Nursing's Education Committee invites you to two days of forensic nursing learning, skill-building, networking, and camaraderie at the AFN Regional Conference: Southeast.

 

Day One will feature topics universal to the forensic nursing practice, including:

 

• Forensic genealogy

• Strangulation case review

• Forensic nursing standards

• Testimony for expert-witness nurses

• Forensic nursing certification

• Supporting survivors & the law

• Personality disorders in offenders

Day Two includes two focused track options – adult/adolescent and pediatric care.

Adult/Adolescent Track:

• Dating apps & drug-facilitated sexual assault

• Medical response to human trafficking

• Pregnancy & human trafficking

• Elder abuse & neglect response protocol

• Human trafficking of vulnerable adults

• Difficult sexual assault presentations

Pediatric Track:

• Child advocacy centers & forensic nursing

• Ethics - Consent & Assent

• Intersectionality of school nursing & forensic nursing

• Medical child abuse

• Effects of the digital age

• Mimics of abuse

AFN Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before March 29, 2025 to receive a 50% discount. After March 29, 2025, no refunds will be available. You may transfer your registration to another person to attend the same event in your place at any time. Transfers cannot be applied to a future AFN event.
